Mathematical aspects of learning systems in collective and individual intelligence.
My research is motivated by the question of how animal brains as collectives of locally linked neurons or neuron populations learn and how this can inform the training of artificial neural networks. In particular, I am interested in the mathematical and computational properties that enable learning.
