Applied Cognitive Psychology

The Applied Cognitive Psychology group is interested in basic experimental research and applied research in the field of cognitive psychology. Our current research focus is on metacognition, the ability of humans to reflect their own learning, remembering, thinking, and problem solving. From a basic science perspective, metacognition is one of the most remarkable abilities of the human mind. From an applied perspective, metacognition is crucial, because it forms the basis for self-regulating cognitive processes and behavior. Our group is responsible for teaching Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and the Psychological experimental internship in the Psychology programs. Here you can find out more about us, our research, and our teaching.
