In the research group of Educational Psychology, Björn Mattes is studying the influence of metacognitive processes on learning and learning outcomes. In particular, he is interested in the ability of students to give accurate metacognitive judgements on learning and performance and the influences under which these metacognitive judgements can be distorted in self-regulated learning and online media environments. He is also interested in psychological and psychophysiological research methods, ranging from high density online measurements in experimental designs to experience sampling or other longitudinal research methods.
